Harry Potter is my childhood. For my 12th birthday party, my friends and I went and saw Sorcerer's Stone. Actually, I dressed up as Quinn Morgendorffer for Halloween 2010. And it was definitely a couple's costume with my old roommate. She was my Daria. We were awesome. Unfortunately, we're from an age group that missed out on Daria, so we spent all night explaining who we were. And there's just a little personal story for y'all.

The book starts out with Ramona and Beezus cruisin' back from the park. Beezus is super pissed about something. She explains to Mrs. Quimby that the boys at the park started calling her Jesus Beezus. To a sixth grader, this is the worst thing ever! Ramona stood up for Beezus, but that only made the experience even more humiliating.

I love the cover. I always have.
Why does this dude hate quotation marks and indentation so much? Sometimes, I want to cause him bodily harm because I have no idea who is saying what or if it's a thought or a dialog.
I understand that he "embellished" certain details. What biographer, auto- or otherwise, doesn't? Does a person really recall every conversation they've had? Verbatim?

I give up.
I can't do it. I can't even pretend.
I can't read this book. I made it about 40 pages. Those 40 pages dragged. And irritated me. A lot.
I freaking loved The Lovely Bones. (And for the record, I read it long before it was sold with a screen shot as a cover.) Lovely Bones is why I was so pumped to finally read this book. Problem? I think my hopes were too high.

I saw the movie version of this when it first came out. I remember liking it. Unfortunately, I no longer remember what I liked about the movie. I don't remember a thing about it. I think that the first set of cupcakes set us up for failure on this set. We got cocky. We raised the standard for quality. We fell flat on our faces.
This time around, we went for the sunflower design. Because it was warm and spring and we got to break out the Pikachu kite and life was good. I remember buying this book because I had freakin' loved Wicked. (I read it for an English class in high school and actually finished it. Meaning that it really was freakin' awesome.
(I officially read four assigned books in high school. 
Yep. Two years of advanced English and five AP classes, 
and I managed to read one assigned book a year.
